- ➤ North 7th Avenue is under major construction that has led to tourist confusion and minor business disruptions, with Big O Tires noting detours have made it harder for campers to navigate the area (the project is a roughly $3.5 million endeavor by MDT and Knife River Construction that began the week of August 4th and is expected to be substantially complete this season with paving planned for 2026). - ➤ HRDC is getting ready for possible federal budget cuts by cutting its reliance on federal funds and using local partnerships to serve over 13,000 people each year. CEO Heather Grenier said the nonprofit reduced federal funding from 70% to about 40% and will adjust programs as needed—focusing on SNAP and Medicaid. KBZK

- ➤ On August 15th, Gallatin City-County Health Department reported that suspected harmful algal blooms were found at Hyalite Reservoir, Hebgen Lake, Heather Lake, and Elk Grove Pond — water samples have been sent to labs for testing and officials warn residents to keep children, pets, and livestock away from affected water.
