- ➤ Prickly Pear Land Trust lost a $100,000 USDA grant meant for stream restoration and grass enhancement projects near Helena — federal program changes halted the funding that was approved earlier — and the trust now must raise the missing funds to move forward with its local conservation plans. Mary Hollow said the loss also forced a shift in trail maintenance efforts, leaving the trust to cover work previously supported by federal partnerships. KBZK

- ➤ MSU football runs in the Eiden family as Ken Eiden III played before and his son Kenny now serves as team captain—continuing a long family tradition. The couple hosts tailgates that bring Bobcat fans together as they look forward to future games. KBZK
- ➤ A giant rock near Butte is the inspiration for the Great Divide trophy used in the Cat-Griz game—Montana artist Dave Samuelson based a bronze design on his painting to honor a rivalry over a century old.
