  • Scout and Lola, the resident coyotes at Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary, have been moved to a new area that doubled their space after donations collected during last year's Giving Tuesday—this expansion helps care for 34 animals and shows how community support makes a difference.  MontanaRightNow

  • An article published Thursday Nov. 20th explained that Montana's tractors, excavators and utility machines show signs like slow movement, shaking or leaks when their hydraulic pumps or motors begin to fail. CULTURE NEWS

  • The Bozeman Symphony will host its Holiday Spectacular concerts from December 12 to 14 at the Willson Auditorium (404 West Main Street) in downtown Bozeman, featuring classic holiday music and a community sing-along. Maestro Norman Huynh leads the performance with tenor Terrence Chin-Loy and the Bozeman Symphonic Choir as they prepare to bring seasonal joy to local audiences.  Bozeman Magazine
  • Downtown Bozeman's Rialto theater is hosting free screenings of Matthew Barney’s film Redoubt in partnership with Tinworks nonprofit, with showings today at 12 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. through Feb. 1 — the historic venue seats 120 and aims to serve as a hub for art and community events.  KBZK

  • Participants of REAL Montana Class VI gathered in Dillon to explore the livestock industry during the program’s seventh seminar. They toured local facilities—L and S Meats Processing Plant, Johnson’s Ranch, Malesich Ranch, and Reminisce Feedlot—and listened to updates from Montana Dairy Producers and Montana Wool Growers.  MontanaRightNow

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Montana outfitters + guides report that nonresident hunter numbers have stayed around 50,000 per year over the past decade, even as elk hunter-days rose by 21% and nonresident harvests jumped 25% from 2014 to 2024. Resident hunters stayed nearly flat in number while increasing time in the field, and beginning in 2026 the base fee for nonresident hunters will rise from $15 to $50.  KBZK

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Bozeman Fire Department will launch its new Quick Response Vehicle—Squad 2—next week to handle low-level emergencies with essential medical and safety equipment. Mayor Cunningham and Fire Chief Waldo said the smaller vehicle will save taxpayer money by reducing wear and tear on larger trucks while keeping them in their designated zones.  MontanaRightNow

  • Bridger Bowl is preparing for a Dec 12 opening by installing new lift systems and using nine snowmaking machines — the resort may postpone its start if colder weather prevents more snowmaking.   • Former Bobcat players Jeffery Brown and Dylan Tripp, now living in Austin, recalled their time at Montana State and look forward to watching the Brawl of the Wild on November 23—predicting a 28–21 win while remembering tough games and strong fans.  KBZK
  • Southern B rivals Manhattan Tigers and Three Forks Wolves will clash for the state title this Saturday at Tiger Stadium in Manhattan—Manhattan enters with an 11-0 record while the Wolves, making their first championship appearance with a 10-1 season, seek to complete a historic meeting as it is the first time two Southern B teams meet for the title.  KBZK
  • The Montana and Montana State football teams will play in the 124th Brawl of the Wild on Saturday at noon — 76 Montana natives from 24 communities are on the rosters, with Montana State fielding 44 and Montana 32, and the winner will claim the Big Sky Conference title along with a likely top-two FCS playoff seed.  KBZK
