  • On November 1, Gallatin County Search and Rescue responded to an injured hiker who slipped on the icy Ousel Falls Trail, hit their head, and could not walk, and they used a one-wheeled litter to bring the patient to a waiting Big Sky Fire Ambulance—officials urge hikers to stay alert on icy trails.  MontanaRightNow

CULTURE NEWS

  • Bozeman artist Javier Moreno turns childhood pain into vibrant oil paintings that share his personal story of healing — his gallery off West Koch Street displays art that speaks of both struggle and hope. His newest collection will be featured at Zoot Studios and The Baxter on November 5 and 6 — about 90% of the works are new and never seen before.  KBZK
  • The artistic director and director of Little Women joined Montana This Morning today to discuss the upcoming production — it will open on Thursday, Nov. 6.  KBZK

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Montana fell 2¢ per gallon on Monday, November 3 to average $3.00, 10.5¢ lower than a month ago and 9.1¢ below last year's cost — with the cheapest at $2.77 and the most expensive at $3.49.  KBZK

HEALTH NEWS

  • A nationwide nonprofit with HOPE Animal-Assisted Crisis Response is recruiting more therapy dogs as Montana’s only therapy dog, an 11-year-old golden doodle named Maggie who has comforted people for six years, nears retirement. The group will hold assessments and training in Bozeman in June— it introduced Maggie to first responders at the Big Sky EMS Education Symposium.  KBZK

  • Homeowners near Bozeman face wear on gravel driveways from harsh seasonal weather, and a new guide explains how to grade driveways (using a tractor grader blade) to rebuild the crown and improve drainage.
