- ➤ On November 11, 6-8 p.m., the Baxter Hotel will host a Veterans Day event where author and veteran Dino Garner and co-author Liz Fetter share stories from their books on military service—featuring slides and video clips from veterans. - ➤ Montana’s general hunting season for deer and elk started on Oct. 25 and 26 with mild weather + many hunters stopping at six check stations in southwestern Montana. Wildlife biologists from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks collected data that showed hunter success rates reached 13.4 percent, with 148 elk, 40 mule deer, and 10 white-tailed deer harvested.
