COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The City of Bozeman started its leaf pickup program on Oct. 16 and will run through Nov. 12 to clear leaves from the streets and prevent debris from clogging waterways. Residents are asked to move cars and help by blowing, bagging, or dropping off leaves—supporting a smooth cleanup effort.  KBZK
  • Bozeman nonprofits face record demand as the government shutdown continues and 77,000 Montanans could lose SNAP benefits starting Saturday. A local food bank served 220 families earlier this week—Reach Inc and HRDC report rising donations amid growing need—while community groups work to keep low-income residents fed.  KBZK
  • Bridger Ski Foundation will host its 57th Ski Swap at Gallatin County Fairgrounds on November 1 and November 2 with over 10,000 skiing items available for trade — Laura Huggins discussed the event on Montana This Morning today.  KBZK

  • Bozeman Hawks Theatre Company will present a student-driven production of The Princess Bride at Bozeman High School from Nov 1-9—featuring choreographed sword fights and nostalgic costumes that bring the beloved tale to life—while the community enjoys a fresh take on a fairytale classic.  KBZK
  • Crankie Fest returns on November 7, 8, 14, 15 and 16—featuring original crankies with live music, puppetry and sound effects; shows will be held at the Belgrade Community Library on November 8 and at the Beall Park Recreation Center from November 14 to 16.   • A recent report from the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center shows manufacturing in Bozeman is growing with nearly $2 billion in wages generated in 2024, marking a shift from a history of resource extraction.   • At Western Livestock Auction between Great Falls and Vaughn, Montana's cattle market is stable this fall as ranchers bring more cows to auction while sales remain steady, according to General Manager Ryan Perry.
