COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Phillips County residents Dale and Janet Veseth donated their 38,300-acre cattle ranch, valued at $21.6 million, to the Ranchers Stewardship Alliance to keep it in agriculture—ensuring the land stays under local management for ranching traditions. They will continue to run the ranch during their lifetime—while RSA will eventually take over ownership to preserve Montana’s open landscapes for future generations.  KBZK
  • Hair stylists at Johnny and June's Barber and Beauty Parlor in Bozeman are receiving training to spot domestic abuse signs in recognition of Domestic Abuse Awareness Month & are partnering with Haven Domestic Violence Shelter in the Shear Haven initiative. Stylist Amanda Dixon, a domestic abuse survivor with over 10 years of experience, said the program helps build trust and anyone can join by completing a 23-minute video course.  MontanaRightNow

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bozeman Public Library is seeking public input to redesign its Children’s Room, which has served the community for nearly 19 years without an update. The library and its partner architects will hold input sessions Nov. 4—8 and plan to complete design work by mid-2026 with renovations to follow later that year or early 2027.  Bozeman Magazine

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Ivy—a 10-year-old American mink and conservation ambassador—was euthanized at ZooMontana on Wednesday after a rapid decline in her health, ending nearly a decade of public education and conservation support. Zoo officials said she helped collect critical data for wildlife research.  KBZK

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Rimrock Foundation from Billings is coming to Bozeman as an outpatient treatment center near the HRDC Warming Center around December 1st—aiming to address local mental health and substance use needs. Manager Chyrel Garding said the expansion meets a clear need in Gallatin County.  KBZK

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Bozeman Square will be a 31 acre mixed-use project stretching from the former K-Mart site to the Gallatin County Fairgrounds with over 1 million square feet planned for homes, businesses, arts and entertainment. Groundbreaking is scheduled for 2026 and Phase I will add about 100,000 square feet and 200 affordable housing units—an investment set to boost the North 7th Corridor.  KBZK
