ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Markus Klewin, a Bozeman native, jumped into a car at Town Pump casino after a customer suffered a seizure (he injured his ankle) and stopped the vehicle before EMTs arrived.  KBZK

CULTURE NEWS

  • Montana Ballet Company will debut a fresh version of The Nutcracker in collaboration with the Bozeman Symphony and Opera Montana’s Youth Chorus during Christmas Stroll weekend at Willson Auditorium. The production features new choreography and guest artists — scheduled for December 6th at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and December 7th at 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.— and is set to offer an updated holiday classic.  Bozeman Magazine

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Elena Silverman from Montana State University won an international award for her sustainable design model at Cheever Hall—selected from 1,300 entries—and she will begin her master’s program this fall to work on projects that blend educational and commercial spaces.  Bozeman Magazine

SPORTS NEWS

  • Gallatin Valley schools are adding baseball after strong community demand, with Bozeman High and Gallatin High each forming varsity and junior varsity teams. The teams will practice at Hero’s Park under a short-term agreement—practice is set to begin on March 16.  MontanaRightNow
  • The antelope season opened on Oct.11 as game check stations in Big Timber, Broadview and Billings showed mixed hunter numbers—Big Timber saw fewer hunters and lower success while Broadview and Billings had above average counts. Youth deer hunting opened on Oct.16 and is available today for licensed hunters aged 10 to 15 following proper education, and check stations will run on Oct.25 and Oct.26 for the general deer and elk season.  Bozeman Magazine
