- ➤ Manhattan Senior Center is facing funding challenges as the government shutdown affects its regular federal and state aid. The center is partnering with Manhattan Bank (which will match donations up to $5,000 in October) to keep providing Meals on Wheels and community activities for seniors. KBZK

- ➤ The Bozeman Fall MADE fair will take place October 17—18 at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in Bozeman and will feature over 195 local and regional artists along with VIP and Early Bird ticket options. Ticket proceeds will benefit the Gallatin Watershed Council while visitors are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. Bozeman Magazine

- ➤ Montana State University dedicated its new Veterans Park near Romney Hall this week to honor military service members. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bears have been seen roaming Bozeman neighborhoods during fall as they eat up to 20,000 calories a day in preparation for hibernation—residents are urged to secure their trash and pet food to avoid attracting them. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks advises using bear-resistant cans and staying alert outdoors to help protect both people and bears. KBZK

- ➤ Montana State University researchers invented a wearable patch named TrialWear that sends a text alert when a clinical trial patient enters a medical facility—helping hospitals access vital safety information quickly. - ➤ The Bozeman School Board voted to add baseball teams at Bozeman High and Gallatin High to begin playing on March 26 in spring 2026—using a short-term agreement with the Legion program for field access. The decision comes as baseball grows statewide, with more schools joining the sport. KBZK
