COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Thirteen eight-week-old kittens arrived Tuesday at Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter after an incinerator malfunction forced an emergency evacuation at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter during an FBI meth burn— the kittens are receiving ringworm treatment and one, Gel Pen, has a limb abnormality and will be ready for adoption in six to 12 weeks.  KBZK

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Crooked Yard Hops is one of only three hop farms left in Montana, where fifth-generation farmer Jake Teselle grows about 6,000 pounds of hops each year that local breweries use to brew a new beer recipe every season—farming techniques include hand-tying plants in the spring and a Wolf 220 machine for harvest processing.
