  • Today, Gallatin County Fairgrounds announced that IJB Incorporated will build a multi-use facility at the fairgrounds with art, entertainment, a hotel, affordable housing and retail space — officials said details such as design and cost are still being finalized. The master plan is expected to take five to 10 years to complete and will use several million dollars in private funds — the new space is aimed at giving the community a place to gather.  MontanaRightNow

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 29-year-old solo hiker was injured by a bear on the Turbid Lake Trail near Mary Bay on September 16th—he was transported on foot to the trailhead, then by ambulance to Lake Medical Clinic before being flown to a hospital—while park officials work to confirm the bear's species and clear the trail.  KBZK
  • A bull moose got tangled in a hammock outside a home east of Bozeman and was rescued by local officials — the animal was safely freed from the entanglement.  MontanaRightNow

  • Bozeman is getting more national retailers as brands like Sephora, Pandora, and Lululemon open at Gallatin Crossing and Wingstop will open in February (the site is not yet determined).
