- ➤ Greater Gallatin United Way launched Child Connect to give real-time childcare updates in Gallatin and Park counties, and the City of Bozeman helped fund the initiative. About half of the 105 licensed providers now participate—improving connections between parents and providers. KBZK
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Bozeman police and search and rescue teams responded to a water rescue call from last night's storm at Bozeman Beach— the woman was safely rescued and crews gained extra training hours. KBZK
- ➤ On September 5th at 5:00 p.m., Hyalite Fire District was dispatched to Hyalite Youth Camp in Hyalite Canyon after a structure fire was reported in a small utility building. Crews brought the blaze under control within 30 minutes—damage was confined to propane generators and solar power equipment, and no injuries were reported. Bozeman Magazine

- ➤ Sephora, Lululemon, and Pandora have opened at Gallatin Crossing as the mall updates its look and adds fancier brands this fall. Mall manager Logan Burt said shoppers responded positively and construction continues with more stores coming—further announcements are expected soon. KBZK
- ➤ Forbidden Fruit Orchard in Paradise is busy during the end-of-summer harvest and produces up to 60,000 pounds of peaches for local farmers' markets and stores. - ➤ On Tuesday afternoon, Montana unveiled the nation’s first state memorial for fallen tow operators at the Headwaters rest area near Three Forks—law enforcement, EMTs, and tow truck drivers attended the ceremony. - ➤ Montana FWP’s team set bear traps in remote parts of the Gravelly Mountains in July and August to estimate grizzly bear populations. - ➤ City officials announced a portion of the Cherry River Fishing Access Site will close this month for construction to rehabilitate Manley Ditch — the southeast trail from Gallatin Park Drive to the bridge will be closed from Sept. 15 until work is complete, likely through December. - ➤ HRDC closed the old warming center to open the larger shelter Homeward Point on Monday as homelessness in Bozeman rose 20% this year — the new facility offers on-site medical care, mental health support, job training and financial literacy services. KBZK

- ➤ A new adult psychiatric unit will open on September 16 at Bozeman Deaconess Regional Medical Center following a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, giving local patients access to care that includes medication management+therapy and group sessions across Gallatin, Park and Marr counties.
