- ➤ Tres Toros Tacos and Tequila in Big Sky, housed in the Wilson Hotel, will mark its third anniversary on September 4 & owner Brandon Blanchard plans to open a new Bozeman location this fall to offer fresh, authentic Mexican food and a wide selection of tequila. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ StevenStephen is a genre-bending band that has energized Bozeman’s music scene by performing at venues such as Bridger Brewing and The Grey Dog Bar. Founded in spring 2023 by Fildza Rizal, the band mixes alternative, folk, and rock influences — a sound they will showcase on their first EP coming soon. Bozeman Magazine
- ➤ In June 1926, David Angus “Kid” Johnston performed stunts with his trained mountain lion for a Universal Film Corporation crew in Manhattan, Montana—driving a Ford near the Northern Pacific track. He later ran saloons, built a theater for boxing matches and dances, and became a local legend through his work in logging and show business until his death in 1938. Bozeman Magazine
- ➤ Umphreys McGee will return to Montana for two shows at Pine Creek Lodge on September 19th and 20th—Joel Cummins said the band is excited to perform at the only camping venue in the area. - ➤ Heidi Schreck’s play What the Constitution Means to Me will be presented as a staged reading this September 12th and 13th at 8pm and September 14th at 5pm at Verge Theater in the Emerson Cultural Center on Grand Avenue in Bozeman—audiences may join an optional talk-back after each free performance with a suggested $20 donation. - ➤ The Livingston Fringe Festival will debut on September 22nd and run through September 28th, featuring 12 plays by 14 local playwrights and 40 actors across nine Livingston venues. - ➤ Dail Beeghly started working in a Washington D.C. print shop in 1968 and later moved to Manhattan to join local artist Wilson Raska—who runs Blackhammer Print Shop—to make new psychedelic art that honors 60s rock music.
