On Tuesday, veteran Rich Michau received a new roof on his Belgrade home from Montana-based YellowBall Roof and Solar after weeks of planning by Patrick Franqui.

Twenty-seven artists from local, national, and international areas are taking part in the Bozeman Art Museum’s third annual plein air painting week by painting outdoors across Gallatin and Park counties.
They are engaging the public with live painting sessions — including meet-and-greets and a reception where finished works will be available for sale.

City staff removed 110 tons of trash from public areas — not including abandoned vehicles — after Ordinance 2172 reduced urban camping from nearly 300 to 22.
Officials said remaining campers must leave within two months while plans to consolidate camping areas and boost affordable housing move forward.
Montana search and rescue teams remain ready year-round to help visitors and locals in the outdoors.
Gallatin County handled about 130–140 calls with seven incidents last week, while Missoula County completed more missions by May 24 than all of 2024, relying on volunteers and specialized gear for summer and winter rescues.

A single mother said the rent for a two-bedroom at Westlake Heights in Bozeman rose from $1,573 to nearly $1,900, which is more than half her income and makes her question its affordable label.
A representative noted that final rent figures come from third-party checks — and a city housing manager said affordable housing normally costs about 30% of a family's pre-tax income.
