- ➤ Last week, Ben Hughes and his son Magnus led Sensory Day at the Big Sky Country State Fair, offering nearly 280 families a calmer experience with low-stimulation rides and a resource fair — Bozeman Health provided free carnival tickets. - ➤ At approximately 1:41 p.m. on July 18, Gallatin County Search and Rescue responded to a plane crash near West Yellowstone where search planes located the downed aircraft in dense timber and all three occupants—Tennessee residents Rodney Conover (60) and Madison Conover (23) and Utah resident Kurt Enoch Robey—were confirmed deceased as next of kin were notified and the FAA and NTSB began investigating the cause. - ➤ Yellowstone Fiber announced yesterday that Sid Boswell is the new CEO after the previous chief retired in 2024 and the nonprofit more than doubled its subscriber rate by connecting thousands of homes and businesses in Bozeman. The group will speed up construction of its open access fiber network this summer—offering high-speed service and hosting an event on August 7 with a special installation promotion. Bozeman Magazine

- ➤ The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Manhattan Police Department in the search for missing teen Elizabeth Dundas, who was last seen Monday, July 21 at 10:30 p.m. in east Manhattan driving a 2019 black Nissan Rouge with Montana license plate 6-07467D and a damaged rear bumper. - ➤ An Idaho man, Jarrod Thomas Sisneros, 30, was arrested in Sweet Grass County after fleeing law enforcement when his SUV broke down near Big Timber Canyon Road — he was tased and taken into custody — and now faces felony warrants linked to a homicide from June 23. KBZK

- ➤ The Montana Department of Revenue is combining alcohol and marijuana oversight into one division—an effort to boost efficiency while keeping current services unchanged. The department said no jobs will be cut and applications for a new administrator close Aug. 1. KBZK
- ➤ Montana PBS is facing an $1.8 million funding cut in October due to new legislation that reduced its CPB grant—nearly 20% of the funds used for satellite delivery. The station will work with Montana State University and the University of Montana to adjust its budget. MontanaRightNow
- ➤ Gov. Greg Gianforte’s administration released plans for Medicaid expansion changes that will require enrollees to complete 80 hours of work or community engagement per month and pay premiums starting at 2% of their household income—exemptions include pregnant women, Native Americans, and those with disabilities.
