  • Bozeman Swim Center now shows a vibrant mural by artist Dominic Laporte as part of the city’s Percent for Art initiative (which sets aside 1% of project costs for public art). Dave Ward, a regular swimmer, said he liked the piece that connects land and water.  KBZK

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Montana lawmakers passed House Bill 778 that eases immunization record rules and legally separates home schools from private schools — a change designed to protect homeschool freedoms for families. Great Falls Public Schools now offer an online platform with accredited courses for home schoolers.  KBZK

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Montana Fish, Wildlife – Parks launched a new Grizzly Bear Conflict Dashboard on Monday, July 14th to help communities handle conflicts as grizzly bears expand into new areas. FWP staff said the tool will regularly update data to keep people informed of current bear-related issues.  Bozeman Magazine

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Bozeman City Commission approved to add nearly 164 acres near Baxter Meadows to the city and allow more medium- and high-density houses, sparking worry over too many rentals. Mayor Terry Cunningham said plans will protect water and parks while new building ideas will come soon — local residents are anxious about the impact.  KBZK
