  • Airport officials said they have not seen any flight cuts even as Jet Blue explores fewer flights due to low demand — the airline usually operates several weekly flights between Bozeman and New York. Alaska Airlines will resume its seasonal daily service to Boise from October 5 through April 21.  MontanaRightNow

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bozeman’s permit ordinance for camping in public rights-of-way, passed in October 2024, has reduced both overall camping activity and permit renewals—from about 90 initially to 35 now—while improving street cleanliness and safety. City officials will review the ordinance in July, and staff will continue to connect unhoused residents with services even as the permit system ends on October 1.  MontanaRightNow
  • Gallatin County adopted its Safe Streets for All Action Plan to cut traffic fatalities and serious injuries by 50% by 2034 — the plan, developed with community input and crash data review in partnership with Robert Peccia & Associates, sets up 19 road projects and eight safety programs while Bozeman and Belgrade work on their own plans. The commission aims to secure federal funding and improve roadway safety for all county roads.  KBZK
  • Hunters in Montana can now sign up for the Surplus List to get extra Deer B licenses, with top names on a random list receiving an email to complete their purchase.   • A new law signed by Gov. Gianforte in May bans vaping in indoor public spaces after Senate Bill 390 changed the Clean Indoor Air Act to include electronic smoking devices.
