- ➤ On June 10th a smokejumper from the Custer Gallatin National Forest was injured during a training exercise in Yellowstone National Park when strong winds forced a hard landing; Gallatin County Search and Rescue and the Hebgen Basin Rural Fire District quickly responded — airlifting the injured jumper to a regional medical center for treatment. - ➤ Gallatin County Search and Rescue led a mission in Yellowstone National Park Tuesday after a Custer Gallatin employee was injured during a smokejumper training exercise when strong winds forced him to land hard nearly one mile inside the park's west boundary—rescuers provided on-site care before an Idaho Air Methods helicopter transported him to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. - ➤ At Tuesday night’s Bozeman City Commission meeting, officials discussed the 2026 operating budget and affordable housing concerns—residents urged funding for a tenant's right to counsel program.
