- ➤ The Banana Lake Fire near Plains off Montana Highway 28 burned 833 acres and reached 25% containment as of Thursday, June 5. Firefighters — 236 personnel with 14 engines and two helicopters — are patrolling containment lines and mopping up around structures while drivers on Highway 28 are advised to slow down. KBZK
- ➤ Gallatin County honored Mike Ellig on June 3 by awarding him the Outstanding Noxious Weed Management Award for his innovative work managing invasive plants along the Gallatin River. - ➤ Gallatin County is planning a model zoning code to promote affordable housing in areas with the needed infrastructure and is asking residents to share input through a survey and public workshops.
