Good morning, Bozeman. Here's your local news at a glance for Wednesday, the 4th of June.

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Gallatin Valley Mall has rebranded as Gallatin Crossing as it begins adding new national retailers like Arhaus, Lululemon, and Sephora. Construction is underway — some stores will open by mid-August — and the mall will maintain an indoor shopping center for winter days.  KBZK

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Local anglers and tourists are advised to review Montana’s updated fishing rules — the new regulations limit river trout to three daily and require paddlefish hooks to have pinched barbs — before casting their lines. The FWP handbook highlights these changes on page three and Crosscurrents Fly Shop notes that busy waters boost tourism — a sign of growing fishing activity — as the season picks up.  KBZK
  • Fire managers reported Tuesday that the Banana Lake Fire near Plains has burned 913 acres and is 15% contained, with nearly 200 firefighters and multiple aircraft working to cool hot spots. There are no evacuation orders but speed reductions are in effect on parts of Highway 28 — officials ask the public to stay clear of the area.  KBZK

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Starting June 5, Hellroaring Road in Custer Gallatin National Forest will be closed for essential bridge repairs until June 26—work that follows flood damage from 2022—and it will limit access from Glacier Lake Road to the road’s end.  MontanaRightNow
