- ➤ Three Montana National Guardsmen pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor trespass charges in Big Timber on Wednesday afternoon after they allegedly landed a guard helicopter on private land and removed elk antlers — the judge ordered them to return for fingerprinting before July 24 and warned that a new law signed on May 5 may revoke hunting privileges if similar acts occur after Oct. 1. - ➤ The Bozeman Symphony will conclude its 2024–25 season with three performances of Pablo Returns and Copland’s Third Symphony at the Willson Auditorium from June 6–8. - ➤ Local atmospheric scientist Trey Alvey is hosting a town hall at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds this Saturday at 11:00 a.m. to discuss how federal spending cuts and job losses are affecting neighbors—local leaders including Deputy Mayor Joey Morrison and others will share their views as federal senators and a representative are invited to join the event. - ➤ A new committee is planning to propose a constitutional amendment that would permanently keep Montana’s judicial elections nonpartisan by gathering signatures from more than 60,000 voters next summer—this comes after recent legislative sessions failed to add political party labels to these races. - ➤ A new measles case was confirmed in Gallatin County as health officials reported potential exposure at Casey's Corner in Bozeman on May 20. - ➤ Health officials reported that confirmed measles cases in Gallatin County increased from 5 in April to 10 and they are closely monitoring the outbreak as summer travel may bring higher exposure risks—health officials set an exposure site at Casey's Corner on Valley Center Drive for those present on May 20 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Vaccination numbers have notably risen in response to the situation.
