COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Thursday, May 28, MSU’s Regional Pulse Crops Diagnostic Lab invited growers to submit seed samples for testing against diseases affecting chickpeas, lentils — and field peas. The lab serves Montana and neighboring states, offering tests that help prevent crop loss and support safe seed export.  Bozeman Magazine

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Elementary and middle school teachers statewide are invited by MSU to apply for free quantum kits featuring hands-on activities and online training; accepted teachers may pick up their kit at the STEM Summer Institute (Aug. 3-5) on campus or have it mailed, with applications open through June 15.  Bozeman Magazine
  • This month, voters in Gallatin Gateway and Bozeman approved a school mill levy — it will give about $47,975 each year to help keep teachers and staff working and to fund programs like summer lunch support. Parents and staff expressed gratitude for the community’s backing.  KBZK

  • Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is seeking citizen input on corner crossing at the PL/PW Advisory Committee meeting in Glasgow and on Zoom, which will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 1 and 8:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. on June 2.  KBZK
  • The City of Bozeman runs the Food For Fines program today at the Public Safety Center on N. Rouse Avenue, letting defendants trade nonperishable food for up to $200 off fines (parking tickets are excluded) to help stock local food banks as summer school closures raise food needs.  MontanaRightNow
