  • Bridger Bowl rewarded its seasonal employees with extra bonuses after a dry winter forced an early closure by only receiving 138 inches of snow — far below the typical 300 inches — easing the impact on roughly 400 workers.  KBZK

  • Yellowstone Ballet Company presents The Little Mermaid on Thursday, June 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Willson Auditorium with Fiona Lee of the Royal Danish Ballet in the title role and Marko Micov as the prince; tickets (from $30 to $80) include one free child per adult ticket.  Bozeman Magazine

  • Montana State was named one of the top design schools in the U.S. by Graphic Design USA on Monday, May. 18, after its program was praised for fostering innovation through hands-on projects and internships. (MSU seniors also earned national design awards.)  Bozeman Magazine

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Custer Gallatin National Forest announced a temporary safety closure around Ghost Village in the Hebgen Lake Ranger District on May 18 due to bear activity; the closure covers Ghost Village Road 989 and nearby areas while Refuge Point Trail remains open (visitors cannot exit the trail into the restricted zone).  MontanaRightNow
