🏘️ Community
The new Homeward Point shelter campus in Bozeman is nearly complete and is built to support families and individuals facing homelessness in Gallatin Valley.
HRDC said the $16 million project offers low-barrier services like classrooms and meeting spaces — it still needs about $800,000 for furnishings before opening later this summer.
🌲 Environment
On May 15th, the Crystal Cross Fishing Access Site on the upper Yellowstone River was temporarily closed when a grizzly bear was seen feeding on a carcass—no conflicts were reported.
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks staff monitored the area and will reopen the site when conditions allow.
🏛️ Government
On May 7th, the City Commission announced that Chuck Winn has been made the permanent City Manager after serving as Interim City Manager since February 2024.
His appointment was confirmed on May 13th and became effective on May 14th—Winn said he remains committed to serving the community.
