- ➤ A new park honoring I-Ho Pomeroy is under construction at North Black Avenue and East Mendenhall Street and will open in June. The park features Korean art elements, new seating, and expanded bike parking to celebrate a longtime community leader. MontanaRightNow
- ➤ The One Valley Community Foundation begins its 12th annual Give Big 24-hour fundraiser today with new additions for 2026, according to Executive Director Bridget Wilkinson. Local residents can support the community throughout the full-day event. KBZK
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ During National Apprenticeship Week, 18-year-old Jaelyn Gibson is learning the barber trade at Northgate Grummpy B's in Belgrade and is trained by her father and grandfather. She is part of Montana's Registered Apprenticeship Program and will finish her apprenticeship in seven to eight months. KBZK
- ➤ The National History Day in Montana contest held at MSU on Saturday, Apr. 25 allowed approximately 180 students (grades 6–12) to showcase historical projects in formats such as documentary and performance. - ➤ Gallatin Gateway School is asking voters on May 5 to approve a levy that will bring in about $47,875 each year to fund staff salaries and essential services, such as the counseling position. School leaders say lower enrollment has driven the need as operating costs continue to rise. KBZK
