- ➤ A Montana State University project that supports Native food sovereignty received a $500,000 grant from the Mellon Foundation Humanities in Place program yesterday to grow its Buffalo Nations Foodways project. The grant will fund community classes, a new Indigenous Foods Laboratory at the HRDC in Bozeman, and an updated map of the Buffalo Nations biocultural region — projects to help students and Native communities keep their traditions alive — as part of its work.
