- ➤ Harold Stephens, a 100-year-old World War II Navy veteran, has been named Grand Marshal for the Memorial Day Parade. He will lead the event on May 26—serving as a living tribute to his service and a connection to our local history. KBZK

- ➤ Meridian, a longtime downtown Bozeman boutique, flooded on Feb. 11 and has opened a pop-up shop in the Cannery District while repairs are underway—its downtown location will reopen in summer. KBZK
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Museum of the Rockies will host the Dinosaurs and MOR! festival from March 28 to 30 as director Scott Williams explained the event plans on MTN. The festival will offer interactive exhibits and family activities in Bozeman. KBZK
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bears have begun searching for food as they come out of hibernation, and officials urge residents to secure attractants, travel in groups, and carry bear spray to avoid dangerous encounters. Oyler will host a virtual bear aware presentation on April 1 (6 p.m.) to explain safety measures for spring outings. Bozeman Magazine
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rep. Ed Stafman presented House Bill 271 during a Senate Judiciary Committee meeting on Monday to limit the governor from keeping records secret—he said the bill will restore a long-held rule of transparency. The measure passed the House 56 to 44 and aims to ensure that documents on government actions and policy remain public—helping to protect the right to know under the Montana Constitution. KBZK
- ➤ On March 19, the Montana Senate endorsed House Bill 13 which gives state workers a raise of $1 an hour or 2.5% and sets future lawmakers' pay to be 80% of the average wage starting in 2027 and 100% in 2029. Lawmakers voted 37 to 13 and will send the bill to Gov. Gianforte—who previously vetoed a similar measure in 2023—for further approval. KBZK
