  • Bridger Pipeline Expansion LLC has proposed a new crude oil pipeline along the old Keystone XL route in Montana. The DEQ will soon review a formal Major Facility Siting Act application (including a full environmental analysis) as construction could begin by 2027.  KBZK

CULTURE NEWS

  • Montana Ballet Company will perform Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty at Willson Auditorium on March 7 and March 8 — the full Bozeman Symphony pit orchestra will play live and two rows of seats will be removed to accommodate the musicians — marking a first in the city.  KBZK
  • On Tuesday, Mar. 3, residents can watch a total lunar eclipse as the Moon turns red when the partial phase begins at 1:44 a.m. and totality arrives at 4:33 a.m., with clear skies expected east of the Divide for a 58-minute event.  KBZK

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Montana FWP will switch to a digital-only system for fishing and hunting licenses starting March 1, which means cash will no longer be accepted + staff at Cross Currents Fly Shop will help customers learn the new process.  KBZK
  • U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum and U.S. Congressman Ryan Zinke visited Montana Tech University on Friday morning to review mining's role in the national energy plan. They discussed potential benefits to Montana’s resource industry and future energy projects.  MontanaRightNow
