  • On Saturday a wildfire near the I-90 Jackson Creek exit forced the temporary closure of on/off ramps in Gallatin County, causing barn damage despite no injuries; the Montana Highway Patrol + Gallatin County Sheriff's Office responded to protect nearby homes and structures.  MontanaRightNow

CULTURE NEWS

  • Bentley McCullough was crowned Miss Rodeo Montana last month and will host a fundraiser gala at Hart Ranch on Saturday to fund her year of representing rodeo culture and building bridges with the deaf community + tickets will be available at the door.  KBZK
  • Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is inviting local artists to join a 50th-anniversary art contest for Bannack Days at Bannack State Park; entries must be submitted by end of business on March 1.  KBZK

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Montana rose 0.7¢ per gallon to an average of $2.70 as of Monday, Feb. 9, according to GasBuddy (the cheapest station was $2.52 while the most expensive was $3.05).  KBZK

  • Game wardens with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks are asking for help after a bull moose was shot along Middle Cottonwood Trail near Bridger Range north of Bozeman on Monday, Feb. 9. Anyone with details should visit tipmont.mt.gov as a reward of up to $1,000 is offered.  Bozeman Magazine
